The Opportunity

  • Candidate must reside in, or be willing to relocate to, Western Canada (Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan or Manitoba), within a 90-minute drive of an international airport. Significant travel will be required for this role, up to 60%, throughout Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Manitoba as well as occasional trips in other areas of Canada when required. Requires flexibility in work schedule, including evening hours and some weekends. Company vehicle provided.
  • The Dealership Training Specialist is someone who loves to develop others and has a passion for demonstrating their experience and knowledge to help others grow. If you’re able to engage various styles of learners and conduct high level communications with dealership personnel, this might be the right role for you!
  • You will be responsible for ongoing course and content development and will provide support for audio/video conferencing tools and services.
  • This is a great opportunity for a self-starter who can facilitate to large groups as well as provide one on one in-dealership training to various departments.

  • The Dealership Training Specialist may also provide training to the Account Executives on dealership operations.

The Work Itself

  • Assist in training F&I Managers, other dealership staff, wholesale OEM staff and internal staff in the F&I process and sale of products to improve dealer performance. Identify industry/market training needs and design, develop and revise instructional strategies and learning materials to meet those needs.
  • Instruct training programs; consult with customers to determine training and performance improvement needs.
  • Maintain expertise with existing technologies and standards.
  • Evaluate new training products and tools and provide recommendation for use.
  • Collaborate with the larger Ally Auto Finance and Insurance training teams to develop Canadian specific training programs.
  • Support Director of Sales and field sales personnel in the development of existing accounts and conquest of new accounts, work collaboratively with MIC's account teams and all other field personnel in identifying new customers, acquiring new business and strategically managing the sales opportunity pipeline.
  • Assist MIC’s account teams in delivering our value proposition to prospective accounts.
  • Participate in analyzing dealership operations and developing strategies and action plans to improve dealership. F&I performance. Develop and present those strategies and action plans to prospective accounts in an effort to earn the business.
  • Demonstrate a strong business acumen and ability to present new insights/concepts challenge the status-quo and gain consensus with multiple stakeholders and diverse personalities.
  • Evaluate new training products and tools and provide recommendation for use and maintain expertise with existing technologies and standards.
  • Design, develop and revise instructional strategies and learning materials using effective principles of adult learning theory and evaluation data; validate all components.

The Skills You Bring

  • Prior dealership or related automotive or auto dealer facing experience required.
  • Ability to leverage auto dealer expertise and relationships to contribute to dealer training strategy, drive business results and manage projects.
  • Corporate training experience nice to have, not required.
  • 3+ years in financial services, automotive or related industry experience is needed.
  • HS diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.

Emerging: 85000

Experienced: 117500

Expert: 150000

Incentive Compensation: This position is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan
