The Opportunity

This position is with the Portfolio Reporting team of the Dealer Financial Services group and is based in Detroit, MI. This team directly supports numerous areas of the CFO Group by developing credit risk metrics required for SEC disclosure reporting (10K/10Q), Fed/FDIC reporting, management reporting, and preparation of Ally's quarterly earnings materials. The person in this position will be responsible for the completion of numerous reporting processes in order to provide accurate, timely, and relevant credit risk information for financial reporting purposes. The successful candidate will be able to comfortably work with and analyze large datasets, thrive in a deadline-oriented environment, and demonstrate accuracy and accountability while preparing, validating, and reconciling standardized and ad hoc reports.

The Work Itself

  • Produce and validate monthly and quarterly credit risk reports for various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Be a subject matter expert on consumer auto credit risk reporting including all related aspects (delinquency, criticized assets, bankruptcies, repossessions, writedowns, modifications, etc.).
  • Support Ally’s quarterly financial close process by contributing to and reviewing the 10Q/10K and all earnings materials.
  • Be able to reconcile and explain differences in balances between the general ledger and transactional data.
  • Understand all current data issues and how they might impact the integrity of data we use.
  • Maintain and update all Nucleus queries and desk procedures as necessary.
  • Propose and/or implement process improvements for existing deliverables to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Design, test, and implement new production reports based on management needs.
  • Complete ad hoc assignments as requested.

The Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, math, or related business field required.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in a fast-paced analytical/reporting role.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience data mining large relational databases
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Access, Snowflake/Nucleus, and SQL is a plus.
  • Ability to summarize and analyze large datasets to identify trends, draw conclusions, and provide explanations.
  • Are highly organized with a strong attention to detail.
  • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Have a strong work ethic with the ability to initiate proactively and effectively manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to effectively communicate explanations and recommendations to management.

Base Pay Range:

Emerging: 55000

Experienced: 67500

Expert: 80000

Incentive Compensation: This position is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan
